Local tips
Cómpeta is a mountain village inland from the Costa del Sol. Most visitors arrive by hire car, transfer or taxi from Málaga Airport.
The historic centre is best explored on foot. Streets can be steep and narrow, so allow extra time and wear comfortable shoes.
Parking is easier around the edges of the village than in the oldest streets. Follow local signs and avoid entering very narrow lanes unless you know the route.
Opening hours can change seasonally and many local businesses use split hours. Check the live listing or call before making a special journey.
